Deliveroo has launched a new service in which it doesn’t deliver your food at all.
The delivery company is offering a new service called ‘Pickup’ which encourages customers to collect their food themselves.
The company has said that it is launching the option in order to offer consumers cheaper choices.
It is currently available from 700 restaurants in 13 UK cities, with Deliveroo saying it expects more than 10,000 restaurants to be offering the service within the next year.
It will also roll out Pickup internationally, beginning with Hong Kong, Australia, the Netherlands, and Spain.
The news follows Deliveroo’s exit from Germany over the summer, which the company said was an opportunity to reinvest elsewhere in Europe.
