Tottenham Hotspur are on the brink of signing Min-hyuk Yang, an 18-year-old winger from South Korea, as part of their strategy to secure top young talent. The North London club is expected to finalise the deal for Yang in the coming week. However, the youngster will remain with his current club, Gangwon FC, until January to finish the ongoing K League season.

Yang will join fellow South Korean international and Spurs captain Son Heung-min, a player who has become a household name in the Premier League. Yang has already made an impression in his homeland, scoring seven goals in 24 senior appearances for Gangwon. He made headlines in March when he became the youngest scorer in the K League in over a decade, demonstrating his potential at an early age.

Spurs’ Recruitment Drive

Tottenham have been active in the transfer market this summer, focusing on securing young prospects. Alongside Yang, the club has already acquired Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall as they continue to build for the future under manager Ange Postecoglou.

At the same time, Spurs are undergoing a significant squad reshuffle. Spanish reports indicate that winger Bryan Gil is in negotiations over a move to Girona. Additionally, AC Milan has expressed interest in signing Emerson Royal, as Spurs look to trim their roster.

Several players have already departed as part of the summer clear-out. Eric Dier, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, Tanguy Ndombele, and Japhet Tanganga have all been released. Meanwhile, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Rodon have been sold as Postecoglou seeks to reshape the squad to suit his vision for the team.

Pre-season Tour of Asia

Tottenham are currently on a pre-season tour of Asia, starting with matches in Japan. They are set to face J1 League champions Vissel Kobe at the Japan National Stadium this Saturday. Following that, Spurs will travel to South Korea, where they will face a K League XI at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on 31st July.

The match in South Korea could provide an exciting glimpse of Yang’s potential as he prepares to make his move to North London, joining a legacy of South Korean players at the club. Previous players have included former defender Lee Young-pyo and current club captain Son Heung-min.

Yang’s arrival will be eagerly anticipated by fans, who hope his presence will bolster Tottenham’s attacking options and continue the club’s tradition of developing young, dynamic talent from around the globe.
