Who Is Sam White?

Today Prolific London will be taking a look at the career of Sam White. Sam has become a well-known figure in the United Kingdom since she moved over from Australia and you may recognise her voice from a number of radio shows and podcasts.

Sam began her entrepreneurial journey in 1999 at the young age of 24, starting her first business in her sister’s conservatory. Fast forward 20 years, and she has built a successful enterprise, employing over 200 staff members across offices in Cheadle, Cheshire, and Sydney, Australia, with a turnover exceeding £20 million.

Founding Stella

As the founder and CEO of Stella Insurance, she has seen her stock rise significantly and is now a leading authority on business topics in the United Kingdom and Australia. Sam White’s vision for Stella was to create a motor insurance company with a focus on serving women, that was led by women. She is also the co-founder and Chair of Freedom Services.

Building Stella has been a labour of love, developed in collaboration with female customers to provide a more intuitive and rewarding car insurance experience. However, its mission of Stella goes beyond transforming the insurance landscape. The company aims to make a broader impact by allocating a percentage of customer premiums to support women escaping violence through a partnership with the Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC).

Award Winner

One of her companies, Action 365, was recognised by JP Morgan as one of the top 200 female-powered businesses in the UK in 2021. Sam White herself is a multi-award-winning business leader, having been named a finalist in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and the British Small Business Awards in 2022, celebrated for her human-centred approach to leadership.

T.V And Radio Career

As a regular business commentator, Sam shares her insights on platforms like BBC’s Wake Up To Money and Live with Ian King on Sky News. Additionally, she co-hosts Toast, a spin-off series from BBC Radio 4’s Sliced Bread, where she explores the reasons behind the success and failure of big ideas. She also hosts her own podcast, Human Business with Sam White, where she candidly discusses successes and failures with fellow business disruptors.

What Does The Future Hold?

Over the past two decades, she has built multiple businesses in the UK, employing more than 200 people she has turned from a budding entrepreneur to an industry leader. Sam has honest beliefs (a trait shared by a lot of Australians) and one of her core beliefs is in creating businesses that benefit everyone involved, including employees, communities, and customers. She strongly advocates for increasing female representation in financial services and politics, believing that those who control the money hold the power to shape the rules.

With a large focus on championing women’s rights and her dedication to diversity in the workplace, Sam Whites’s ethos is clear. As she continues to inspire female business owners with her passion and drive it is plain to see why she has been given a platform by such large media outlets as she continues to grow her influence globally,
